MY HOPE IS IN GOD
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.
Job 13:15 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Many know of the story of Job. In one day, he lost everything. Enemy armies attacked and took all his cattle, sheep, and animals. They killed his servants and his children. Then Job gets an incurable disease. He is destitute and full of pain.
Yet in everything Job went through he declared, “I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.” Another translation says, “I will put my hope in God.”
In the New Testament book of James we read, “We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.”
(James 5:11 NLT)
There will be times in life when things seem unfair, and God seems not to do what we think He should do. It is in those moments we must place our hope in God. There is a difference between “no” and “not yet.”
I have discovered my timing and God’s timing are often very different. There are moments when I think God is waiting too long. But then when it is all over, I realize God’s timing is always better than mine.
He knows what I need and when I need it. I can trust in the tenderness and mercy of God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please help me to keep my attitude right in the period of waiting.

His timing is better than my timing.
