THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “NO” AND “NOT YET”

 TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Habakkuk 2:3 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

I don’t like waiting. I don’t like lines and traffic jams. God has been working on me for some time to learn to slow down and not get so impatient—but it is a process for me.

I find the same problem with waiting when I feel like God has given me a vision, dream, or plan. I want to see it happen right now, but rarely is that the case.

Here are a few thoughts to ponder: First, God's delay never destroys God’s purpose. His purpose is still working even when it seems to take forever.

Secondly, a delay is not a denial. Children must learn the difference between "no" and "not yet" and so must we. Many times, we think God is saying, "No," but he is saying, "Not yet." We must learn to wait for the timing of God.

If there are dreams God has given you that have not yet been fulfilled perhaps it is because you are in the waiting room. It’s time to wait on the Lord and learn to be at peace with waiting. In God’s timing it will come to pass.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit help me to develop the fruit of the Spirit which includes patience. Help me to be willing to wait on God to do His work in my life.
