OUR FOCUS IS NOT THE PAST
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Proverbs 4:25 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
It was a field day at Westcreek Elementary in the spring of this particular year. The race was the sixth-grade girls 220. The teachers had marked out a rough track on our playground. Everyone knew that Susie Brown was going to win--she was the fastest girl in school.
They lined up at the starting line, the gun sounded, and eight girls started down the white lines. By the first turn Susie was ten yards in front. By the second turn she was at least fifteen yards in front. And then the moment I will always remember--Susie looked over her shoulder to check on the competition. That one quick glance threw Susie off her stride, and she tumbled to the ground. Seven girls ran past her as she struggled to collect herself. She finished last.
We can learn from the past and grow from the past, but we can't focus on the past. The victory is always in front of us. Let's don't let anything cause us to lose our focus. God has a future for each of us. If you have breath in your lungs God has a plan for you. Your future has hope.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me to fix my eyes on what You are wanting to accomplish in my life. Show me the goals that lie ahead of me. Help me to write down those goals and daily lay them before You.

I want to see the future clearly as God has more plans for me.
Lord please order my steps.
