LIVE WITH GREAT EXPECTATION
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,
1 Peter 1:2-3 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Let’s look at three things God has done for us to allow us to “live with great expectation.” First, God knows us. He knows all about us—the good, bad, ugly, really ugly, and all the in between. There is nothing you have done or will do that will surprise God. He already knows those things that you have hidden from everyone else.
Secondly, with all that God knows about us He still chose us. Remember when you were in elementary school at recess, and it was time to pick teams for kick ball. You wanted so bad to be chosen to play on a team. No one wanted to be the last pick.
God has chosen us to be on His team. He has chosen us to be a part of His family. Even though He knows all our garbage He still chooses us.
Thirdly, God has cleansed us and made us holy by the blood of Jesus. We are clean in the eyes of God. That is the result of God’s mercy and grace. His grace gives us what we don’t deserve—to be chosen on His team. His mercy doesn’t give us what we do deserve—we deserve death and separation from God.
Because of God’s great grace and mercy, we should live everyday with great expectation. Today is going to be a great day. This is going to be a great week. Next year is going to be a great year. Victory is coming in new ways. Purpose in life is coming. Provision is coming.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit open my eyes to Your plans for me. Help me to get in total alignment with Your plans and purposes. Help me to live daily with great expectation.
