EVERY SEED BEARS FRUIT

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
A wise man once told me that people in ministry do not burn out because of too much work, they burn out because they don’t see the results of their work. I believe this is true for almost everyone who is a follower of Jesus.
As followers of Jesus, we know we have a calling to make a difference in our world. Yet often we feel that our life is making no or little difference. We become disillusioned because of the monotony of the daily grind.
Paul gives us a strong reminder that “nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
I am reminded of a time when my wife told me of being at a store and feeling compelled to pay a stranger’s bill for some purchases. Cindy responded to that feeling and told the lady to consider it just a gift from the Lord. That opened a door for a conversation.
I was invited to give the invocation for our city council. As I arrived, I was met by the City secretary who asked if I had a brother. We determined that she had attended school forty years ago with my brother and he had made a positive impression on her life. That opened the door for a wonderful conversation about the Lord and church.
Everyday there is an opportunity to plant seeds. No seed is ever useless. However, some take longer to produce a harvest. But every seed bears with it the power of life.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please help me today to plant positive seeds with my words and actions. Help me to be sensitive to the opportunities You put in my path.
