WE CAN TRUST THAT GOD WILL PROTECT US

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
Psalms 18:30 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Learning to trust God to work things out for our good is a tough job. This is why we are told in scripture “the just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).
Having faith doesn’t mean we never have problems or difficult people to deal with. I’ve lived long enough to know that problems are a part of the process of life—whether you are a spirit-filled Christian or not you will have problems.
We can’t control everything or everyone. There will be things happen in our lives that are not pleasant. We can’t control what happens to us but we can control our response to what happens.
One man said life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to what happens to you. I am convinced the successful people in life have learned the secret of controlling their reactions and always having a positive mindset.
King David has his share of battles and experiences of unjust treatment. But David chose to declare, “God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”
Scholars believe David wrote the 18th psalm after the Lord delivered him from his enemies—including King Saul. It is a song of gratitude for victory.
It is one thing to sing a song of gratitude after the battle is over, but it is another thing to sing a song of gratitude while you are still fighting the battle.
I believe David not only sang songs of victory after His battles but during His battles. He wrote these songs down so that generations to come could sing these songs during their battles.
We can declare “God’s way is perfect” even when we don’t understand how He is working or why He is taking so long. We can thank Him because His promises are true, even when now we are hurting and wondering how we will win this battle.
We can declare God is my shield of protection when we feel vulnerable and afraid. We can choose to respond to every circumstance in faith.
In our times of uncertainty, we can know that the Bible is certain. We may live in a limited world, but we serve an unlimited God.
Our unlimited God is our shield. As we look to Him for protection, we can trust that He will protect us. In Psalms 3:3 David declared, “But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.”
We can trust that God is our shield for whatever Satan throws against us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit we trust in You. I believe that Your way is perfect. Your promises will prove true. You are my shield of protection. I shall not be defeated, embarrassed, or ashamed. I will always triumph.
