AGREEMENT/ALIGNMENT/ASSIGNMENT

TODAY’S THOUGHT
God wants to work in and through us. He has created us with a purpose—we are not accidents or mistakes.
To fulfill God’s purpose in our lives we need AGREEMENT and ALIGNMENT. It all begins when we chose to agree with God’s Word about life. The more I agree with God’s Word—even the parts I don’t fully understand or like—the more my life will be in alignment with God’s will.
When we take time to study God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us through the Word, our minds will be shaped by the truth of God’s Word. We live in a society with a lot of competing voices. Anyone with access to the internet and a keyboard has an opinion about what is right and wrong.
There are a lot of self-proclaimed experts that want to tell us how to think and what to think. There are so many voices it is often hard to know who we should listen to. That is why it is important to take time in prayer and fasting to silence the other voices and listen to the Spirit of God.
As we pray and fast, we are allowing our spirit-man to become stronger so that we begin to walk more by the spirit and less by the flesh. As the flesh loses its hold on our choices we get into agreement and alignment with God’s Word.
Once we begin to get revelation of God’s Word we have to choose to align our lives around that Word. We become not just hearers but doers of the Word. We allow the Word of God to shape our priorities, our relationships, our spending habits, our conversations, and every part of our lives.
As we get in agreement and alignment, we will begin to discover our ASSIGNMENT. God has a unique assignment for each of us. That is our purpose. We will only find true fulfillment and satisfaction when we discover and walk in our purpose.
Our purpose will not only advance God’s kingdom, but it will also bless others and bless us. We will discover we are doing what God created us to do.
During this season of prayer and fasting let’s ask for greater clarity about our assignment. Let’s be sure we agree and align with God’s Word.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit I want to know Your assignment for my life. I want to daily live in alignment and agreement with Your Word. Teach me Your Word. Give me greater insight and understanding. Help me to have nothing in my life that hinders Your will and Your plans.
