FORGIVENESS AND FREEDOM

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

And don’t let us yield to temptation but rescue us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:13 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Part of our daily prayer is to ask for God’s help in overcoming the temptations and attacks of our enemy. We must all recognize that we are weak and alone we can become victims of temptation and attacks of Satan. He wants to destroy our lives by leading us into making choices that will harm us. Jesus went to the cross to die to pay the price for our sins and failures. He took our sin on Himself on the cross. By His death we have forgiveness and freedom. We are forgiven for our sin, and we have freedom to live without sin. None of us will be perfect. We will have moments of failure. But we don’t have to live under the control of sin. Sin does not have dominion over us because we have yielded to the dominion of Jesus. When we look around at our society, we see the results of Satan’s work. We see the poverty Satan caused. We see the addictions Satan led people into. We see the abused, neglected, and rejected members of society who are in that state because of Satan’s work in humanity. None of us are exempt from the temptations of Satan. We all have our areas of weakness. We ask for God’s help to lead us away from those areas and into victory. This is a daily prayer because each day we need to remind ourselves we are one bad choice away addiction, bondage, and destruction.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit lead me today. Lead me away from temptation and deliver me from the attacks of Satan in my life.
