TODAY’S THOUGHT

What gives us the desire and ability to love others? I believe it is a deep revelation that we are loved by God.

We can get caught in what many call the performance trap when it comes to our relationship with God. We believe the lie that God’s love for us is based on our performance. This is a trap because there are only two possible outcomes—we perform well and become full of pride, or we don’t do well, and we live in guilt which leads to self-condemnation.

God does not want us to live with pride or guilt. Our loving Heavenly Father wants us to live with a proper revelation that we are loved by Him. This love is not based on our performance, it is based on His grace and mercy. 

During this season of prayer and fasting let’s ask for a fresh revelation of how much God loves us. I believe we can be soaked in God’s love. I heard one man talk about the day he was “baptized” in the love of God. He had been saved, baptized in water, and baptized in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. But something new happened when he received a fresh revelation of God’s love.

I am praying for each of us to receive this fresh revelation. God’s love is beyond the ability of our natural minds to fully understand or comprehend. It is overwhelming to our understanding. That is why we need a spiritual revelation to fully accept God’s love.

Once the revelation of God’s love hits our spirits we begin to overflow with love for others. Even people who are very different from us begin to sense something in us that is an overflow of God’s love.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit please baptize me in a fresh revelation of Your love. Help me to have a new revelation of how much you love me.
