COME AND TALK WITH ME
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
Psalms 27:8 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Wow, this verse hit me hard today. David is responding to the invitation from the Spirit of God— “Come and talk with me.” I think in the busyness of our lives we often fail to hear God’s invitation to come and talk with Him. Imagine a moment what your response would be if the president of the United States had someone contact you to set up a personal meeting. Regardless of your political views you would probably be overwhelmed to think a person that powerful wanted to talk to you. Maybe we bring it down to a more realistic possibility. Imagine you are in college, and you get an email asking you to come meet with the president of the college. You wonder if you have done something wrong and a quick mental check assures you there is nothing that bad you are aware of. You accept the invitation and show up at the appointed time with a bit of fear and awe. Whether it was the president of the United States or the president of the college you would probably not turn down the invitation. You would consider it an honor that you were invited to spend time with them. Our Heavenly Father, the Creator the universe, invites us daily to come and spend time with Him. He wants to talk with us. He wants to share wisdom, direction, and peace with us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please help me to daily respond to Your invitation to come and talk with You. Help me to listen more and talk less.
“Scroll down to share what you feel God is saying based on today’s reading.”
Lord , I want to forever be in your presence.
I want to sit in Your presence
Thank you Lord for always saving us from this world. For even the president of the United States has no idea what he is doing, but You are always in control, leaving us in awe and wonder of the works You do.
Thank You Father that You have the open invitation. There is no better time than the present to listen and talk with You.
Holy Father, I want to hear You, not the distractions of this world. Speak Lord; Your servant is listening.
