KNOW THAT I AM GOD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.

Psalms 46:10 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

We live in a culture that struggles with being still. Most of us are very active people. Some, like me, tend to almost pride ourselves on how many things we can juggle at one time. What we fail to recognize is that constant activity causes stress. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that for over half the people who die before the age of 65, the basic cause of death is stress. Think about that. One study concluded that between 60 to 70 percent of people going to visit a doctor with various illnesses; the underlying problem is stress. God speaks to us and says, “Be still, and know that I am God!” Let’s try an exercise today. Take a deep breath and take a moment to be as still as you can. In this moment ask God what is causing the major stress in your life. Now, declare that God is bigger than that problem. Put that problem into God’s hands. Whisper a prayer thanking God for being God in your life.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit thank you for always being in my life. Thank you for helping me to be still today and reminding me that You are God.

Bring still can be problematic in todays world. Father, I pray that I am still and rest in Your presence which is “always.”
