I WILL SURRENDER ALL TO THE LORD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
Psalms 37:7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Wow—have you ever had a passage of scripture hit you between the eyes? This passage was like a dart from heaven to me today.
After I read this passage, I read some thoughts from Rick Warren that went with this passage. I quote him.
“Surrendering your life means: 1) Following God's lead without knowing where he's sending you; 2) Waiting for God's timing without knowing when it will come; 3) Expecting a miracle without knowing how God will provide; 4) Trusting God's purpose without understanding the circumstances. You know you're surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation.”
You would think that with age and supposed maturity it would be easier to trust God. But there are moments when I wonder why God is not doing what I think He should be doing. Why is God so silent when other people are acting so stupid?
My brain is quite capable to laying out multiple options of what I think God should be doing at this moment. But He seems to have another plan, or another time, or something that I just don’t see.
Being still when your heart is racing, and the stress is growing is hard to do. The brain says we must do something, anything. But often what we must do is get on our knees and ask God to cleanse our heart, forgive our wrong attitude, and open our eyes to His plan and timing.
His ways are not my ways. His thoughts are not my thoughts. I must be confident with God being God.
This is my moment. Learning to trust God in those moments of waiting.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit I trust that You are working. I know that You have a plan and purpose. I know that You are working all things together for my good.
“Scroll down to share what you feel God is saying based on today’s reading.”
I choose to trust God when I don’t see what He is doing.
Lord, in the midst of being confused thank you for this word.
