POWER IN THE SPOKEN WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
Psalm 91:2 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
There is power in the spoken word!
When God chose to create the universe from nothing, He chose the medium of speech in which to create everything. God “said,” “Let there be light.” When God created the earth, sun, moon, stars, and all the animals He chose to bring them into existence by speaking.
The Bible teaches us that we are born again, transformed from death to life, and placed in the family of God when we believe in our heart and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. Our spoken words have the power to release God’s grace and mercy into our being.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us the power of life and death are in our tongue. God has given us a powerful tool in our tongues. We can declare with our mouth truths that release something powerful into existence.
When David wrote the 91st Psalm he declared the blessings and favor of God over our lives. The Holy Spirit anointed David to pen words that have the power to transform our lives. But we must choose to declare with our mouths the word of God.
As we breakdown Psalm 91 it would be a good habit to begin to read this entire psalm over each day out loud. By reading this passage out loud to ourselves we are releasing life over ourselves. We are also releasing faith into our spirits.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom 10:17). When we declare out loud Psalm 91, we are building our faith. We are releasing blessings into our lives. We are transforming our mind from negativity, doubt, worry, fear, and anxiety.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, I ask You to make Psalm 91 come alive in my spirit as I declare with my mouth Your Word. Transform me so that my thoughts are in alignment with Your Word.
