PROTECTION FROM SICKNESS AND DISEASE

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
God is our rescuer and protector!
David tells us God rescues us from “every trap.” The picture here is of a trapper who puts out steel traps to ensnare a wild animal. The trapper will bait the trap with something that he knows will attract the animal he wants to trap. When the animal is drawn to the bait the trap will spring and lock on to the animal.
Traps are painful. Traps are hard to escape from once the animal is trapped. Often the trap will hold the animal until the hunter comes to collect them.
Satan is out to steal, kill, and destroy every child of God. I believe Satan studies us and knows exactly what bait to use to attract us and lead us into his trap.
Often, we like to deny that we are caught in a trap. We make excuses and try to act like nothing is wrong but, on the inside, we are struggling and hurting and slowly dying. We can’t get out of the traps of Satan on our own. We must have the help of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the family of God. We need the Spirit to teach us the Word and we need the family of God to support us as we heal.
Not only does God rescue us from Satan’s traps but He protects us “from deadly disease.” This means that God is interested in both our spiritual health and our physical health.
God wants to protect us from every sickness and disease that would infect our body and hinder our effectiveness for His kingdom. We can declare that God delivers us from any and every deadly disease.
Cindy and I have a list of people that we are praying for every day. We are confessing over them that they have been healed by the stripes of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Daily I thank God for His healing that has already been purchased and paid for. I declare healing in my spirit, soul, and body. I declare healing to be applied to my family and friends who are suffering at this moment.
TODAY’S PRAYER
In the name of Jesus, I give thanks because my God rescues me from every trap and protects me from every disease. I am thankful today that Satan has no trap in my life—I am free from the control and consequences of sin. I am thankful that sickness and disease have no place in my physical body. By the stripes of Jesus, I am whole.
