PERFECTION IS AN UNREALISTIC EXPECTATION
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Romans 3:23-24 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
In my years of working with people and allowing the Holy Spirit to work on me I have learned that a lot of people live with unresolved guilt or unrealistic expectations. We must deal with each of these to move from condemnation to confidence. God wants us to live as His confident children.
Unresolved guilt is caused when we fail to recognize and accept the grace of God. By His grace God has made us “right in His sight.” Jesus’ death on the cross paid the price for all our sins. God freely gives this forgiveness to anyone who admits they are a sinner and can’t save themselves. By confessing our sins to God and accepting His grace we are forgiven and free from the control and consequences of sin.
Unrealistic expectations occur when we think we can live perfect lives. This passage tells us “Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” If you want to know what a sinner looks like just look into any mirror. We are all broken by sin. To expect that we can live in perfection is an unrealistic expectation.
The grace of God does not give me freedom to sin. I must walk away from sin and trust God’s grace to empower me to live in alignment with His will. When I fail, I confess and repent. I refuse to live a life of sin.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit show me any unconfessed sin in my life. Lead me today in confession and repentance as I walk away from all known sin. Help me today to accept the full grace of God. Move me today from condemnation to confidence in Your grace.

God’s grace is more than enough.
Thank you Lotd for being such a forgiving God , that doesn’t mean I should take advantage with my wrongs.
