GOD’S LOVE FOR US
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What makes you feel good about yourself?
In our culture some people feel good if they are wearing the right clothes, driving the right car, or living in the right house. Others get their self-worth from their educational accomplishments or their job performance. Some get their self-worth from the number of likes on their social media accounts.
I believe Paul would tell us we could get our self-worth if we fully understood how much God loves us. And not only understand that love with our intellect but experience the love of Christ.
Once we have experienced God’s love for us, we will “be made completed with all the fullness of life and power.” Our fullness of life comes when we understand how much we are loved by God.
As imperfect as we are, God chooses to love us. He chooses to accept us and pour His love into our lives. When we were a total mess, God loved us and gave His Son to die for our sins.
When we fully understand God’s love for us it will revolutionize the way we view ourselves and the way we view others. Suddenly we will begin to see that every person has value. That value is not a dollar sign. Their value is the sign of the cross.
Jesus’ death and resurrection made every human being valuable. Jesus died for the whole world so I should value every person.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me to better understand the love of God for me and others. Help me to get my self-worth from God’s love and not my accomplishments or looks. Help to value others based on God’s love.
