ABOVE ALL ELSE, PRAISE!
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. Everything I prophesied has come true, and now I will prophesy again. I will tell you the future before it happens.
Isaiah 42:8-9 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Throughout the Bible God uses individuals to declare His plans for men. These individuals are called prophets. Their prophecies are not based on human understanding or reasoning but are given as inspiration from the Spirit of God. While many of the prophecies recorded in scripture may have a variety of application and interpretation, the overall concept is that God wants us to know that He is in charge, and He wants us to listen to Him. Even though it may look like the world is in chaos and confusion God is working through it all to accomplish His master plan. As we read the various prophecies in the Bible, we should not have fear but instead have peace in knowing that God is in charge. He has already revealed the conclusion of all events. His plan is to gather His followers to spend eternity with Him in heaven. The Lord Jesus will return to earth to bring justice. We must be careful that we don’t allow our desire to study prophecy distract us from worshipping our Heavenly Father. Some can almost make an idol out of their personal interpretation of future events. Any study of Biblical prophecy should lead us to a greater worship of Almighty God.
