AS WE THINK, WE ARE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
Proverbs 23:7 NKJV
TODAY’S THOUGHT
The power of our thoughts is nothing new to mankind. For years, leaders have acknowledged the power of our thoughts to determine our future. Consider these quotes:
”Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” — Henry Ford
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” — Teddy Roosevelt
“The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.” — Marcus Aurelius
“Our thoughts make us what we are.” — Dale Carnegie
Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, reminds us that “as we think in our hearts, so we are.” We are what we think. That was Solomon’s anointed observation of humanity.
It is true today. What we think is what we become. We can’t succeed in life when bad thoughts occupy our life. We have to develop a positive mind set in order to be the best version of ourselves we can. (Having positive thoughts is not a guarantee of success—there is hard work that must accompany the thoughts. However, it all begins with the thoughts.)
Some people are naturally bent towards positive, self-inspiring thoughts. Others, and I think many, were raised in environments that caused them to develop a lot of self-doubt, guilt, and shame. For them - fear, worry, anxiety, and depression are the normal thought patterns of their lives.
How do we change our thoughts?
We must invite the Holy Spirit to help us. We have to flood our minds with positive truths from the Word of God. It is impossible to be the best version of ourselves apart from a solid infusion of God’s Word in our lives.
Question: Are you happy with your present life? Are you happy with your present thought patterns?
If you said no to either of these, you need to begin to think about the positive steps needed to change your life. It begins with changing your thinking.
