WILL YOU SURRENDER?
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul has reminded us that Jesus humbled Himself and came to earth wrapped in a human body. He was “God in the flesh.” This Jesus did not come to show off His deity and power or to impress humanity and get us to serve Him. In His own words He came not to be served but to serve. He came to die on a cross for the salvation of all humanity. Then, Jesus rose from the dead. After His resurrection Jesus was exalted by Father God “to the place of highest honor.” Now every tongue must “declare that Jesus Christ is Lord.” We used to sing a chorus, “You are Lord. You are Lord. You have risen from the dead and You’re Lord.” It was a catchy and powerful chorus that helped focus our attention off ourselves and onto the Lordship of Jesus. Unfortunately it is easier to sing a chorus than it is to live a life of surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. We can’t simply declare Jesus to be Lord with our mouths and continue to make life choices on our own. Jesus is either Lord of all our lives or He is not Lord at all. He can’t be our “Sunday morning Lord” but not our “Saturday night Lord.” We can’t pick and choose when and what we want Jesus to be Lord over. We must make Him Lord over all our life—our relationships, our finances, our physical bodies, our priorities, our entertainment— our everything.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me today to make Jesus Lord in every area of my life. Show me those areas that I have not yet yielded to the Lordship of Jesus.

Lord, I want You in every moment of my life. When I fall into the ways of temptation, guide me back to You.
I want Jesus to be Lord of all in my life.
