TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
“Our lives are always moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts. What we think shapes who we are.” (Craig Groeschel from his book “Winning the War in Your Mind.”)
In recent years scientific research is beginning to agree with the Bible that our lives really do follow the direction of our thoughts. The real battle we all face is in our mind.
Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8-9 some powerful truths when he says “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Notice the progression that Paul presents in this passage:
1. Thoughts (“think about such things”)
2. Action (“put it into practice”)
3. Experience (“the God of peace will be with you”)
This is the progression of life. Our thoughts shape our lives.
In psychology this is called cognitive behavioral therapy. This practice teaches that many of our problems in life are rooted in faulty and negative patterns of thinking. They teach the way to treat the problem is to change the thinking of the client.
So, our big question is, “do I like the direction of my thoughts?”
If my answer is no, then maybe it’s time to change my thoughts. Let’s start a war, with God’s help, to “knock down strongholds of human reasoning” and capture rebellious thoughts.
The Holy Spirit wants to work with us and through us to transform our minds so that we can transform our lives.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me today to fix my thoughts by allowing You to transform the way I think. Free me from false human reasoning. Help me to capture my rebellious thoughts.
